Last night I drove up to Mulholland drive with a friend who is visiting LA for the first time. Driving along a clear road, taking in the views of Los Angeles at night and seeing someone experiencing it for the first time reminded me of just how special and inspiring this city can be.
We stopped at a scenic lookout and joined a dozen or so fellow renegades who had climbed the fence to stare at the lights. Just below us we could see the Hollywood bowl and hear the crowds cheering to what sounded like an Abba tribute band. The high beams from the Bowl traveled the sky and lit up the crowd as they passed and it was beautiful. Here was LA living and breathing.
